Position Overview

Provides compensation analysis and consultative support to corporate, operations and human resource management on pay programs and policies under limited general direction.  Conducts job analyses and evaluates market data and pay practices.  Serves as a resource on all matters related to compensation.


  • Responsible for the development, administration, and communication of compensation programs which include base structure development (grade, geographical structures, etc.), short-term incentive, and long-term incentive programs and job analyses
  • Provides consultative and analytical support to corporate, field and human resource management on compensation strategies, programs, issues and practices
  • Conducts complex research and analyses to evaluate compensation plan performance and provide insight to business leaders on plan outcomes
  • Analyzes and evaluates job documentation and prepares job descriptions to support job evaluation, incentive plan design, recruitment, and performance management
  • Applies standardized methods to the analysis and review of internal pay equity and recommends pay adjustments
  • Leads the administration of one or more compensation programs such as the annual merit increase cycle, incentive plans and recognition programs, including analysis and reporting 
  • Researches, analyzes and evaluates market data and pay practices; participates in compensation surveys
  • Analyzes internal pay equity, documents and recommends pay adjustments; prepares and analyzes changes in wages and salaries for pay policy compliance
  • Contributes to the design, development and implementation of compensation communication and training materials (e.g., incentive plan documentation, merit program communications, FLSA compliance training)

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of human resources, compensation, finance or related experience required
  • SPHR, PHR, and/or CCP credentials strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of human resources and compensation related principles, practices, and employment laws and regulations
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent ability to analyze metrics and present results
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including internal consulting skills and public speaking
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Project and process management skills. Organizational skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
