Position Overview

The Director, Infrastructure & IT Operations is responsible for the strategy, design, delivery and operational management of all aspects of TruGreen’s IT Operations and Infrastructure. This role will oversee the company’s technical infrastructure, plan and manage to budget, and lead and motivate a team of professionals. He/she has excellent vendor management skills, as well as a service-oriented approach to infrastructure engineering.


  • Drive the evaluation, deployment, and management of emerging infrastructure technology solutions to deliver automated, scalable, and reliable outcomes.
  • Implement necessary security, SOC, SOX and IT policies and controls.
  • Manage capital and operating budgets and provide leadership and guidance on how to best allocate funds towards technologies / personnel.
  • Lead and collaborate with senior leadership on building an enterprise cloud strategy and migration, in support of a cloud-first strategy.
  • Oversee all aspects of infrastructure operations including communication (LAN, WAN, email, VOIP, etc.), server and storage, backup, availability, cloud compute and technical recovery.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the infrastructure team including the Service Desk, assignment of work and providing high-level reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare overall status and activity metrics that documents and tracks delivery of IT services, planned and unplanned system outages, change controls, incidents and other key metrics.
  • Manage third parties in supplying IT operations services.
  • Manage the enterprise change control and incident management processes.
  • Manage overall capacity utilization and performance of Network, Server/hardware environment ensuring it is optimized to meet business requirements.
  • Responsible for enterprise assets management (Mobile devices, including mobile phones, field tablets, laptops, desktops, servers and printer), deployment, inventory management and refresh cycles.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, or equivalent work experience required. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of IT Ops and Infrastructure experience with 5+ years running large, cloud-first Ops/Infrastructure.
  • Experience with both implementation and maintenance of a cloud-first application and infrastructure environment (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience evaluating, implementing and running 24x7 services and associated vendors for an IT infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience required.
  • Experience with ITIL services and infrastructure processes and integrating them into an effective operation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong and practical understanding of ITIL and ITSM principles
  • Strong knowledge in a wide variety of solutions (e.g. telecommunication solutions, IVR, ServiceNow, EmpowerID, OKTA, Active Directory, GitHub, Microsoft 365 platforms, HP Quality Center, Jira, Mobility, JAMF)
  • Unwavering customer focus and data driven decision making
  • Demonstrates strong relationship management skills: ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and business peers, as well as effectively operate within a cross functional organization
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, technical designs and operational controls is desired
  • Advanced planning and project management skills
  • Leadership and management skills to coach and develop a team of professionals
